Swati Vijaivargie completed her graduation from NIFT, in 2000, and launched her own clothing line – Rang in the year 2010. Creating her own textiles was an asset when she decided to specialise in thread-resist Shibori patterns and creating surface textures using different tie-dye and embroidery techniques in rich pure fabrics to make clean, minimal garments with a fresh look and international appeal for today’s women.
The work of Swati Vijaivargie has been recognised and appreciated in international fairs like Heimtextil, Frankfurt, Domotex in Hannover, and multiple Pan-Indian fairs. Many designer clothes are available online on Swati Vijaivargie website. One can choose from various categories like dupatta, dresses, jumpsuits, sarees, top & blouses, pants & bottoms, and more. The designer collection contains embroidered, printed, and Shibori garments. The embroidery collection contains handiwork embroideries like danka, muskaish, aari, zari to gota patti, marodi and applique. The printed collection is influenced from the unification of natural landscapes and architecture. Shibori collection has tunics in silk and Chanderi, using the Japanese resist dyeing technique.
