Both vehicles will be free unlockables

Rocket League is coming to the Nintendo Switch a lot later than other platforms, but at least the cars-meets-soccer game will have some goodies when it does arrive. Today, Rocket League developer Psyonix revealed two of the Switch-exclusive vehicles that will be featured in the game, both based on iconic Nintendo properties. The first, called the NSR, will come in Mario and Luigi varieties, while the second is styled after Samus’ iconic gunship from Metroid. Both vehicles will be free unlockables. They’ll be available when the game launches on the Switch, which is expected this holiday season.

Transparent goalposts aren't the only thing coming to Rocket League in its Autumn Update. Developer Psyonix announced today that it will also be moving to Standard Arenas exclusively for both Competitive and Casual matches when Competitive Season 6 gets underway. Standard versions of the Wasteland and Starbase ARC arenas will be rolled out as part of the update, while the "classic" versions, renamed to Badlands and ARCtagon, will be restricted to Private and offline matches.
