Forklift Training Courses

Licence to Operate A Forklift Truck (TLILIC0003), will provide you with a nationally recognised forklift licence which will allow you to operate a forklift in any state of Australia. This licence is a legal requirement to be able to operate a forklift in the workplace. It is also one of the most basic components most employers will be looking for when hiring new staff in many industries.

The course will teach you everything you need to be able to work safely and efficiently in the workplace, you will gain skills on how to safely plan your work, carry out safety inspections on the forklift, operate the machine in order to shift loads and load standard racking in line with safety guidelines and safely shut down the forklift after use.

What you need to know!

To be eligible to enrol in our course:

You need to be able to Read, write and speak basic English (Workplace Health and Safety requirement)
Pass a language, literacy and numeracy assessment (LLN) upon arrival
Be over the age of 18
Provide three forms of identification – click here to view valid documents
Be physically able to operate a forklift
Be able to drive a car. (A full driver’s licence is not required but basic driving skills are essential)
Must wear enclosed footwear.

Course outline

Licence to operate a forklift (TLILIC003) - $395. Suitable for beginners to experienced operators.

2-day training course – This usually consist of 1 and a half days of practical training and half a day for assessment. If, however more driver training is required before you are ready for your assessment, we are happy to have you back for up to 2 more days training free of charge.

Courses run:

Monday-Tuesday or Wednesday-Thursday. (830am – 3pm)
Evening courses($450) run once a month – Monday and Tuesday evening with assessment Thursday Evening. (4pm-8pm)
Saturday Courses($450) run once a month – Runs over 2 consecutive Saturdays. (8am-3pm)

If an oral assessment (reading and writing is a problem) is required please call to discuss your options. As this is a one-on-one assessment it will incur an additional fee.

With the course you receive:

Pre-course study guide – emailed to you upon booking.
Hard copy training manual to work through during the course.
Enough practical training on a variety of different forklifts to ensure you are ready for assessment.
Classroom based training including group discussion and assessment practice material.
Written and practical assessment including all training materials and a hi-vis vest.
Nationally recognised statement of attainment for your forklift ticket.

AS1 form which will allow you to apply for your licence from WHSQ and operate a forklift for up to 60 days until you receive your licence in the mail.

Forklift Licence

You will have to make an online application to WHSQ to receive your photo licence. This will be explained upon completion of the course.
High-risk work licences last for 5 years – after this time, the licence will need to be renewed. This is done via the WHSQ website.
If your high-risk work licence has expired, you have up to 12 months to renew the HRW licence.
If your high-risk work licence has expired, you are no longer a licenced operator until you have it renewed.
If it’s past the 12-month period, the operator must do the written and practical exam again.
