It has a sibling in the Union x Air Jordan 2 Rattan dressed in warmer colours.As with its Air Jordan 4 collaboration, the team over at UNION likely have a well-thought-out, personal story behind this and the accompanying “Rattan/Siren Red/Beach/Orange Peel”-colored pair, but it hasn’t been disclosed yet. What’s certain, however, is that the streetwear pioneer has been purposeful with its joint-efforts, sourcing quality materials and developing compelling campaigns for its offerings’ roll-outs.
The Union x Air Jordan 2 Grey Fog is another exclusive variation by the LA-based imprint. The bulk of the model’s upper is dipped in a light grey tone that takes on varying shades across suede and canvas materials. Perforations across the profiles inject new design D.N.A. into Bruce Kilgore’s creation, as do the Air Jordan 13-like “dimples” along the ankle panels. The Chris Gibbs-led institution also adds “vintage” detailing to Michael Jordan’s second signature sneaker by way of the slightly-yellowed laces, co-branded tongue labels and non-standard production tag on the lateral collar.Other notable details consist of UN/LA tags, as well as a lateral ankle tag. Finally, co-branded tongue tags, insoles and white rubber sole tops off the design.
