Diablo 2 Resurrected is probably one of the first Fantasy RPGs I ever played. A game that you can literally get lost in for days and yell a dictionary of swear words at.

Blizzard dropped the ball with WCIII Remake. BUT DIABLO II RESURRECTED IS AMAZING. I have been having so much fun and the nostalgia it brings me is unparalleled. The graphics are phenominal and the gameplay is as good (and better in some cases) as it has always been. If they can keep these graphics and mood for D4, but add content. They will have another hit on their hands. I honestly cannot say enough good things about Diablo 2 Resurrected. The community has the seem feel as the original too. I couldn't be happier with what they have done. And the cinematics are breathtaking. This game is an absolute must buy. And yes, i know blizzard is having some issues with the lawsuit from California....but vicarious visions did this remake, and they deserve the success and laurels from their fantastic creation.

To put quite simply it's one hell of gaming experience in D2R. And, especially for it's time, alot of the elements are captured brilliantly. The look of the characters, the assortment of demonic foes and the world itself are definitely a visual delight. The skill build and combat for each character is also done very well and kept fairly engaging throughout the game (although I admit I've actually only played as three different character types). The Boss fights are intense AF, which actually adds to the whole experience, making it both exceedingly frustrating and rewarding. Finally the story itself is well written and engaging, with some cool little cinematic cut scenes thrown in-between each stage. Even if getting D2R Ladder Items is hard, but still.

Now the disadvantages... I said before about how the game can summon up an arsenal of swear words, particularly with the Boss fights. So yeah this was also considerably a negative aspect for me aswell... but this was also mainly due to the fact that I'm so damn noob at games. As I said before, I've basically only played the game with three of the types of characters available, one of which was from the Lord of Destruction expansion. Playing as the Sorceress I couldn't get past the first stage in single player (although got to stage three with co-op). The Necromancer I got up to the end of stage two. And the expansion character, the Druid, I managed to get up to facing Diablo himself but was never able to defeat him...

This frustrating personal experience aside though, it's one hell of a gaming experience, and a solid recommendation if you want to try something a bit more dated and challenging that still holds up pretty well. So yes, D2R is a great game to play!
