Kashmiri Kahwa

Kashmiri Kahwa is a traditional Kashmiri drink made from milk, tea leaves, and sugar. People in the region of Kashmir often drink kahwa as a breakfast beverage. It's traditionally drunk from small cups called "ghoris" and served with a Nolen gur, which is toasted date syrup from up north India.

The usual recipe for kahwa is one teaspoon of tea leaf per cup of boiling water. The tea is taken with plenty of sugar and fresh lemon juice, and served hot with toasted gur. A pinch of salt is also added which gives an overall flavour to the tea.

Kahwa is served in small cups made of brass, silver, or clay. It is often consumed along with a slice of fried bread or "warq". The drink can be garnished with cinnamon sticks and cloves, which are added along with the tea leaves to the boiling water.
