Cambridge-based Jagex’s fantasy MMORPG, Runescape, has now surpassed $1 billion overall revenue using more than 260 million total players over the course of OSRS Gold that history. Jagex marked a 14.2% rise in year-on-year revenue using a total salary of £84.9 million rolling around in its last financial year.
With Runescape’s increasing popularity, the organization has seen remarkable profits rolling around in its 18-year history. In its last financial year, Jagex’s garnered a return of £43.5 million, over 51% in the total revenue. Runescape’s player-base can also be at a peak to use seven-year history.
Jagex CEO Phil Mansell spoke to GamesIndustry.biz, “We put plenty of RuneScape Gold attention into game features and community engagement activities that promote long-term player retention and high rates of return from lapsed users”.
