NHL is the only sport that either improves or stays exactly the exact same year after year. The problem with Madden and MT 2K20  is they are making it far to realistic. Back in the day where you can do spin moves without getting tired, you can dunk on each quick break, Ray allen would hit 20 3s in matches versus buddies, in madden that you can run towards the end zone with mike Vick and then run for a td since he didn't become tired. Shit like that made those games great. You simply can not do this. That is why NBA 2K20s are failing imo.

I think we want 1 Madden, 1 NBA, FiFa etc.. Give them upgrades and place any microtransactions they want as long as no non invasive cosmetic. Individuals would buy because individuals would forgive EA that shot. Exactly. However, you could keep on playing with old rosters or sport modes which are not changed by new rosters, like EACHL (my personal favorite). NBA 2K20 for a whole does not change enough to get a whole new game.

I know a lot of people are as a Service on the hate train for Games...but sports games should be ideal for GaaS. It's really a match. Seasons are built in, events are built in. I assume full game earnings have to be good enough to keep that revenue model moving. However, for many other matches, GaaS has to demonstrate that its viable.

The issue with sports games like these is they're simply video games. The only really great sports game I know of that still releases yearly is MLB the show. And that sport has significant changes to gameplay every calendar year, has great gameplay complete, and microtransactions aren't a big deal at all. It is not the type of game.
