It through a Kickstarter campaign. These eleven versions are divided between the Limited Edition and Open Series collections, with six and five versions, respectively. KickStart has been affiliated for 44 days and nights, winning support after support.
If you occasionally have online access to watch suppliers, chances are you've heard of Machismo. And unless you're living under a rock, you've probably heard of the crowdsourcing website Kickstarter too. But what you may not have heard of is the Xeric watch brand, and it's the first timepiece, the XERISCOPE, which is currently on Kickstarter (with about 26 hours to go).
This is astonishing not only because 1,127 people (so far) have pledged their dollars to support the birth of an independent watch brand but also because it shows widespread interest in unique mechanical watches that go far, far, far, out of reach of mainstream brands. Not to mention that this xeric xeriscape replica watch sees its birth facilitated by a Kickstarter campaign is downright rocking in the industry.
So, what is the Xeric XERISCOPE? Thanks to Xeric's in-house designer Daniel Hunsaker, it's a unique watch, that's it. The PERISCOPE has an automatic mechanical movement visible through the dial with an escapement that rotates around the dial and serves as a 12-hour indicator. Cool, isn't it?
Featuring a unique visible rotating escapement / primary hour indicator, a dual arc minute display, a second-time zone sub-register, a retrograde power reserve indicator, and a 50-hour power reserve, the XERISCOPE is powered by a hand-assembled Chinese-made automatic movement. The PERISCOPE is water-resistant up to 5 atmospheres.
For this first round, xeric watch Swiss replica produces eleven variants of the PERISCOPE. Those are unbelievable ambitions. There are some very established watch brands that don't even have eleven variants.
The parts of the Limited Edition series all feature a crystal back of the display case and a smooth or coin edge bezel. The cases are all stainless steel and come with rose gold, black, or yellow gold finish options. The Open Series adds what Xeric calls "halo" hands, which circle the indices. With an estimated delivery date of January 2014 for the Limited Editions, the XERISCOPE may be a little late for Christmas, but that doesn't mean you can't print, pack and put a photo of the watch under the tree ... say '. The Open Series will find its way to donors sometime in May 2014. For more information, check out the Kickstarter page or XericWatches. Replica Rolex DayDate watches for sale.
