An event took place at the XChange in New York City that celebrated the unveiling of two new timepieces by the world's oldest operating watch making company, Vacheron Constantin. Both are to join its Platinum Excellence Collection. The president of Vacheron Constantin North America Julien Tornare prepared the event with the high standards that the company holds their watches to.

The man of the hour at this unique event was Clive Davis for his much deserved notoriety in the music industry. Before Davis became a multi-platinum selling record producer and executive, he held a modest position at CBS. He furthered his career with Arista Records, and currently is CEO and chairman of BMG.

Also in attendance at the Vacheron Constantin event was Academy Award Winner Jennifer Hudson who was named one of Barbara Walters's 10 Most Fascinating People of 2007. However, the great honor bestowed upon Hudson was that Davis introduced her before she gave an outstanding performance. The songs, including tracks from her new album, were greatly received by everyone present. During "One Night Only" from the hit movie Dreamgirl, Hudson invited a lucky audience member to join her on stage.

Several other names worth mentioning attending the event. Among these were the beloved actress Kate Bosworth and a guest DJ to spin records of a few of Davis's artists' greatest hits, DJ Cassidy. DJ Cassidy thoroughly entertained the guests during Hudson's breaks from performing.

Despite the glamour of the celebrities that attended the event, the main showcase was Vacheron Constantin's new platinum watches displayed along with their historical pieces. Those pieces of history had to travel from the Vacheron Constantin Museum in Geneva, Switzerland, a feat made more remarkable as they date back to 1820.

The Vacheron Constantin did more than display fine Custom Watches during this event; they proved to New York that true style is not simply a passing fad.
