To say thank you, the brand is issuing a very special Nike Dunk Low SP “Thank You For Caring” in January. Each panel on this upcoming Dunk Low appears to draw inspiration from packaging of different brands of rice, though replaced with Nike-themed branding. The yellow heel panels, for example, is a play on a Sri Lankan brand of rice called Nipuna.

It is apparent that the pair has something to do with Nike’s creative hub, the Blue Ribbon Studio, with the wording splayed across the pair’s medial quarter, but as we dive deeper into the pair’s detail, we begin to uncover its connection with food. Food guide tongue tags, race bag-like hessian mid panels, and multiple call outs to food weights and faux brands ann feature across the sneaker, but it does pay homage to Nike’s history, too, with retro logos are sprinkled throughout.
The Nike Dunk Low feature construction that mimics woven and burlap sacks of rice. Other features include a zipper tongue pouch and nutritional facts-style tongue tag. First look images of the shoe also show grocery bag-inspired wrapping paper that reads “Thank You For Caring!,” a message that is also found on the insoles.
